After the Paris attack on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo left at least 12 dead, hashtag #JeSuisCharlie (“I Am Charlie”) went viral worldwide. Twitter reactions ran the gamut: from statements of mourning and solidarity, to defenses of free speech and expression, to critiques of the magazine’s provocative take on Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.
